David Jones, South-Central Team Lead (TX, LA, KS, OK, MO, AR)
David is a native of Southern California where he attended school, worked as a photo lab tech, a musician and construction. It was also where he experimented with drugs and engaged in criminal lifestyle, ultimately serving four years inside for bank robbery in the early ‘80s. Prison is where he began a relationship with Jesus that continues to grow and to flourish. “I grew up around church, but didn’t really appreciate what having a relationship means, and the value of discipleship”, he states. “What I also didn’t appreciate is the value of having recovery tools and a support system until I suffered a relapse in the early ‘90s.” He now celebrates over 18 years drug free, 12 of those years active in Celebrate Recovery and CR Inside. He continues to seek ways to reach out to the incarcerated and to their families. He has attended Summits and One Day trainings for years, began being a State Rep in 2010, was the National Editor for the Celebrate Recovery Inside Newsletter from 2010-2014 and admin for the Facebook page (Celebrate Recovery Inside Newsletter). He enjoys photography and music, playing on CR praise teams and at church, and currently works as a probation officer.
